Oliseh Slams Brazil After Norway Knock Them Out of World Cup 2026
Former Super Eagles head coach Sunday Oliseh has delivered a sharp verdict on Brazil's display at the FIFA World Cup 2026, condemning the five-time world champions after their stunning exit at the hands of Norway.
Carlo Ancelotti's side suffered a 2-1 defeat to Norway at the New York New Jersey Stadium on Sunday, a result that ended their campaign in the round of 16. Norway, meanwhile, advanced to the quarter-finals for the first time in their history.
Haaland's brace sinks Brazil
Erling Haaland was the hero for Norway, scoring twice to seal the famous victory. Brazil had their moments early on — Bruno Guimaraes squandered a penalty, and both Gabriel Martinelli and Vinicius Junior were denied by goalkeeper Orjan Nyland before half-time.
Haaland broke the deadlock in the 79th minute with a powerful header, before completing his brace right on 90 minutes with a strike from outside the penalty area. The Manchester City striker's two-goal haul proved decisive.
Oliseh's damning assessment
Oliseh, who managed the Super Eagles in the early 2000s, did not hold back in his reaction on X. He singled out Haaland's second goal as a reflection of everything that has gone wrong with the Brazilian national team.
