West Ham United have agreed to sell Crysencio Summerville to Saudi Pro League club Al Hilal in a deal worth approximately £68m (€80m), according to Sky Sports News.

The agreement ends a pursuit by Roma, who had seen a £39m (€46m) offer for the Netherlands international rejected by the Hammers on Monday. Al Hilal's proposal was worth nearly double the Serie A club's opening bid, and West Ham accepted it swiftly.

A landmark sale for the Hammers

Should the transfer be completed, Summerville will become the third-highest sale in West Ham United's history, surpassed only by Declan Rice and Mateus Fernandes.

The move also carries significant financial weight for a club navigating life in the Championship after relegation from the Premier League. Combined with the £85m sale of Mateus Fernandes to Tottenham Hotspur this summer, West Ham will have raised more than £150m from player sales once Summerville's deal is finalised.

Al Hilal's late move

News of Al Hilal's interest in Summerville was first reported by Italian transfer journalist Gianluca Di Marzio on Tuesday afternoon. The Saudi club moved decisively, submitting a bid that West Ham found impossible to turn down.

West Ham's other summer business has included the signing of Keiber Lamadrid from Deportivo La Guaira for an undisclosed fee, the departure of goalkeeper Krisztian Hegyi to Sparta Prague, and the free transfer of Callum Wilson to Brentford.
