Aston Villa have opened talks with Chelsea over a move for winger Alejandro Garnacho, with a loan deal the initial proposal on the table.

However, Chelsea are insisting on a permanent element being included in any agreement — and Sky Sports News understands the club are willing to sanction a full sale of Garnacho for £42.7 million (€50 million) this summer.

Xabi Alonso, speaking at his Chelsea unveiling last week, acknowledged the club are working alongside Garnacho and his representatives to reach a resolution that satisfies all parties involved.

Aston Villa are not alone in their pursuit. Roma have also registered an interest in the Argentine forward, while clubs from the Saudi Pro League are monitoring his situation as well.

Garnacho, who came through the ranks at Manchester United before moving to Chelsea, has not reported for pre-season training as he pushes for clarity on his future. More details are expected to follow.
